Summery 2005

                                                                                                       

           2005 had been an exciting year in Abundant Life ministry. We have seen babies that were saved from abortion, babies that were born. We have traveled overseas; we had our first yearly meeting of the organization, exciting outreaches and increasing desire to see more things to be done in the future.

 

Testimonies of babies:

 

For those of you who have prayed for Ruti, the young woman who stayed in our shelter, who was pregnant with twins - In the middle of March she gave birth. To our joy she gave birth to Osher ("happiness" in English), a baby girl. To our regret and sorrow Netzach ("eternity" in English), died and is now with the Lord. Ruti still lives with her parents and gets a lot of support from them. Thank you Lord. Recently we had a wonderful visit from Ruti in our home.

 

This is a testimony of a young couple who are Ethiopian Jews. When they discovered that the woman was pregnant, they were confused. They were not married and in the Ethiopian culture, this is a huge shame to the family. As the counseling progressed, this couple only needed somebody to encourage them to somehow make the right decision. Praise to God, this young couple decided to keep their baby and to get married. They already came to get a box full of baby clothes. It was so encouraging to see how happy they were when they left our home.

 

The story of an alien in Israel:

Ovel, who is a foreign worker (alien) in the land, was working at a believer's home. She got pregnant and because she was worried about her work and her stay in Israel, she tried to abort her baby. At the time she was waiting for the abortion, she already had remorse and pain knowing that she was going to loose her child. Each conversation with her was full of tears and regret. She went to the doctor to inquire about the situation of the baby after she took abortion pills, it was a great joy for her and for us to know that her baby was still doing well. The abortion failed, thank God, and the baby lived.  Ovel decided to raise her child at any cost. But the pregnancy did not last long. In her 27th week of pregnancy baby Geurvel was born weighing 830 grams. Ovel had a natural delivery and the delivery went fine. As we were visiting her in the hospital, it was amazing to hear her say that the Lord answered all of her prayers. Later on Ovel came to visit us in our home happy to tell us that Geruvel is growing beautifully and now she weighs 3 kilos and 400 grams. Thank you Lord, and thank you for your prayers. If all continues well with Geruvel, the doctors will release her from the hospital soon. Geruvel's mother received many clothes for her baby.

 

The story of Naomi:

 

Naomi gave birth this week. She came to Israel from El Salvador where she met an Israeli guy. As they started to have relationship, he promised to marry her and told her how much he loves her. When she found out that she is pregnant, he was nowhere to be found. He rejected both her and the baby. Just before the due date, Naomi came to take clothes for her baby and at the same time we had a Spanish speaking guest with us who had an opportunity to share her faith in God with her. We know that it was divine appointment for Naomi. She also allowed us to pray for her delivery. Naomi now is a single mother.

 

Most of the women will stay single mothers. This is a small portion of a picture of a growing problem that we are facing here in the land. The numbers of single mothers is growing rapidly. Please pray for these as they face the hard part of life in being a single mother. Pray for this big problem that we are facing in our land. Pray for their babies that are going to be fatherless (at least for the time being). May God fill this role in their lives..

 

There are also sad phone calls: A woman, 14 weeks pregnant, phoned me to tell me that she wants to have abortion because she has a baby boy and not a girl. She has an autistic boy and would not take a risk for fear of having another autistic son. Please pray for conviction of the sanctity of life to the women of Israel.

 

Finland:

 

We went to Finland this year and we are invited to go there again in 2006. Our time there was just amazing. As we were traveling to different places we shared about the sanctity of life, the shedding of innocent blood, about the work, and the situation of abortion in Israel. We want to bless and thank all the Finns who received us so beautifully and encouraged us with their faithful prayers and commitment.

 

Outreaches:

 

Outreaches are picking up. At the moment we are printing a larger number of pamphlets to hand out to those we meet on the streets. Recently three babies were saved from abortion through the outreaches; one in the city of Netanya and one in our home town of Kefar Saba and one in the city of Ramat Gan. This is a great encouragement to the outreach workers. We also started to receive more phone calls through the outreaches. Praise God. In one of the outreaches in Tel Aviv, Ishai was happy to give a pamphlet to the secretary of the government of Israel. We see that babies are saved during the outreaches and the Lord brings women in pregnancy crisis to meet with us.

 

Vision for the future:

 

Ishai went to a new age festival for 3 days recently, where 20.000 young people attended. Over there the Lord showed him that we are to go to these festivals with the message of life. These kinds of festivals take place in Israel during the high Holidays and during other occasions throughout the year. We plan to set out a booth with literature against abortion, for abstinence, and information about sexually transmitted diseases. We would also like to present a PowerPoint presentation about the development of the baby and to have T-Shirts printed with the Logo and the hotline number. These festivals last for 3 days non stop, day and night, which means that we will need many people to help.

The house:

 

The Lord spoke to us to have Raga living with us in our home. Raga is an Arab believer that needed a place in our area due to her Job. As we heard the Lord speak to us in this regard we felt that He wants to connect us more with the Arab community. She is living with us already for few months and we love her very much. This month we were surprised by a phone call from an Arab guy that wanted to come with his girl friend for a pregnancy test. It was for the first time in all this years of counseling through the hotline that an Arab couple came to the office for counseling. We had a wonderful time of sharing as they were struggling how to keep there relation ship because she was a Moslem and he came from Christian background. They were afraid from the family. As I shared with them about Raga living with us, they were so surprised to see that an Arab woman lives in a Jewish home. For seven months Raga lived with us in our home. In June she left us to get married. We can say that we grew to love her so much that it was hard to let her go. Since she came to live with us, the Lord really connected us more with the Arab community of believers in the land. There is a growing desire in us to join together and to become one in the Lord.

 

Having an office to counsel is one of the things that we have prayed for so much. At this point the office is in full activity. Two Post Abortion Healing Seminars were given already.  These seminars are for women who need healing because they have had an abortion. And suffer from the consequences of it. It is an 8 weeks meeting and at this point I do it in Spanish and in Hebrew. Just to let you know that with the Spanish translation that is done right now we are having this seminars in English, Hebrew, Russian, Spanish and Finnish Five different languishes. Praise God. God is using these seminars in such a gentle way to heal broken hearts. He is so faithful

 

"For the vision is yet for the appointed time: It hastens towards the goal and yet it will not fail- though it tarries, wait for it: for it will certainly come, it will not delay" Habakkuk 2:3

 

A few years ago the vision to have a shelter for pregnant women was born. Since the time we entered this house, a year and 5 months ago now, we and many of you have prayed for a breakthrough so that we will be able to renovate the basement for the women. Thank God we are moving on. We already have the plan for the basement from the architect and this month we hope to find the right workers to complete the task.

 

In May this year, we invited about 50 people to come and join us in celebrating the gift of the house from the Lord. It was a wonderful time of sharing and praying together.

 

We want to thank the Lord for allowing this ministry to reach out and help single mothers and orphans during these last few months, and since its beginning.  He is so faithful!

 

This week Anat started her second year counseling study course, and she also started an additional post abortion healing seminar.
