Summery 2006
Summery 2006
We want to begin this update by thanking the Lord for the past year, 2006 that is drawing to an end. This year held many challenges for us as a family as well as for the organization. We also experienced many moments of joy. We experienced another war in the north with Lebanon. We saw lives of babies being saved from abortion, and we also saw people making choices that broke our hearts, as lives were taken to the slaughter.
In all this we want to thank the Lord that He called us to take part of a calling that fights for Life, and for the value of life, in an ignorant and selfish world. We cannot stop thanking the Lord for the privilege of seeing our daughter Liel growing in the Lord, and to thank Him for the beautiful Bat Mitzvah celebration that we had in our yard in August.
In the beginning of March we went to Switzerland to share about the work and the message that the Lord put in our hearts about sanctity of life and shedding of innocent blood. We had the opportunity to share this message in different congregations and prayer groups. We had a wonderful time. We want to thank the Swiss believers that received us with so much love & acceptance. We want to thank Maria & Andy for there loving hospitality.
15 years ago we were in Lausanne in a YWAM school in Switzerland. We were not married yet and this is where the Lord confirmed our marriage to be. The first place we spoke in was in Lausanne and we could not stop thanking the Lord looking back and today for all that He had done in our lives in these 15 years.
A few years ago the vision to have a shelter for pregnant women was born. Since the time we entered this house, we and many of you have prayed for a breakthrough so that we will be able to renovate the basement to be a shelter for the women. Thank God we are moving on. This year we could do the renovation and at this point we are praying for the Lord to help us to complete it. Please pray with us for the Lord to supply all the furniture needed: Kitchen, living room and for the woman personal needs in her room.
In the middle of May we traveled to Finland. It was in our hearts to encourage those that hears the message to get involved in rescuing those who are been led to the death. Prov. 24: 11,12.
We want to give a praise report and thank God for the many opportunities and places that He gave us to share the message of life and to give our testimonies. We also had the opportunity to speak for half an hour in T.V 7 Finland. Opportunity we never even imagine.
In the city of Ramat Gan a baby was saved from abortion through an outreach there. Vered is already a single mother for a 6 years old child. It was a difficult decision for her to decide not to have the abortion. There had been many crises during these months of the pregnancy. She experienced a lot of pursuers from the doctors that something might be wrong with the baby.
Baby Sivan was born healthy and beautiful. Praise God through the pamphlet and the counseling she decided to keep the pregnancy to full term. Few weeks ago we went to visit baby Sivan and her mother in the city of Holon near by Tel-Aviv. Vered was really amazed to see all the beautiful pink clothes we brought and blessed her baby with them. Please pray for this family especially for their economical situation, since the mother is not working for a long time already and now have two children to raise by herself.
Ruti, the young woman that lived in our shelter came to visit us with her husband. She met him after she gave birth to Osher. They got married a year ago. They brought with them to our home their new baby girl Or ( Osher's new sister) that was born in the month October.
The story of Pamela:
Pamela is 19 years old with a heavy background of many abortions in her past. Her sister called for help and it was difficult to convince Pamela to cooperate at the beginning. She finally came to our office for counseling and at the end of our time together, she decided to keep the baby, and to come and stay at our shelter. She said that even though she has a physical family in her heart she is longing for a family she never had. As we were awaiting her arrival the next day, her mother came to her apartment and forced her to come back home with her. She agreed and moved in to live with her parents. During this time Pamela and her boy friend decided to get married and in the month of November they got married. Usually this would be a happy ending, but since we were aware that the husband is an alcoholic and uses drugs we are concerned for Pamela, the baby, and this marriage. Please pray with us for safety for all of them.
Rinat had a miscarriage in her 11th week of pregnancy. She had experienced loss and a lot of pain. After a year and a half she became pregnant again. This time at weeks 13 of her pregnancy she calls me for abortion. Due to their marriage problems Rinat decided to abort. Counseling with her had not been easy. Yet she decided to keep her baby and to connect with her wanted child. Praise God for one more life that was saved from abortion.
Shli was ashamed for been pregnant and not been married yet. She came for counseling and was already 6 months pregnant. She shared with me that she will become a single mother but did not know if she will manage financially. She was very encouraged to see all the baby clothes and furniture that we could give her. When she gave birth we were happy to give her abundant of clothes and baby items. Sheli came to our home happy to show us baby Yoram.
Who can say that abortion does not hurt the woman?
After many conversations and counseling through the phone Mira decided to perform the abortion. I would like to share with you two text messages that she sent to me while we were in Finland. The first was the day after the abortion: I am resting after the terrible suffering of yesterday. I am feeling horrible right now." The second came a day after: "Now I know that all you shared with me and told me was true, that you were right in all that you explained to me." As we returned from Finland we kept in contact. She had to take a leave from the army for one month. Mira was clinically depressed after she had the abortion. She did not get out of bad in this month as she shared to me only for food. Later she had to return back to serve in the army.
Another call from a pamphlet from an outreach in Netanya was from a woman that suffers from schizophrenia. Two weeks prior to that, we studied in school about schizophrenia. As she lives in a closed institution the situation was so difficult. Thank be to God later she found out that she is not pregnant. This is just a small portion of the many difficult issues that involves in this counseling. I want to thank God for my studding and the new insights that I have as I started the third and the last year of my studding.
Anat was invited to teach in a seminar for counselors she gave 3 different sessions. At the end of the seminar she shares: "we all stood in a moment of silence for all the babies that were aborted in Israel, and through out the world." These babies do not have a grave and their names are not engraved on them. No body comes to bring them flowers and their mother has not aloud themselves to mourn over them. Who will cry for these babies? Who will mourn for them? Their blood is crying out from the ground.
As we were all praying for more workers the Lord challenged each of us in the prayer group to be even more active. Maya, who is also from Finland, participates faithfully twice a week in outreaches. The Lord showed Anat to join Ishai in the outreaches as well. We all need your faithful prayers. We want to be effective. Please pray that "In Him we will be enriched in every way in all our speaking and in all our knowledge" 1 Cor. 1:5 we are burdened for more workers to join Ishai on outreaches. We went to a New Age festival during the Feast of Tabernacles and enjoyed a great and fruitful outreach. We realized that the Lord is enlarging our vision by showing us to go to different festivals that are taking place throughout the year. For this we certainly need prayers for more volunteers to share the workload.
We would like to end this update by thanking all of you for your faithful prayers and support. Indeed the Lord is using you for the work of saving lives in Israel. Have a happy and wonderful year in 2007.
In His love,
Anat and Ishai Brenner
